One of the most frequent locations for falls to occur are on the steps leading to a garage or basement. Unfortunately, the washer and dryer are located in the garage or basement in many homes requiring those steps to be used on a regular basis. One of our most common services is to provide custom steel railings to make those steps safer.
A recent client had a more challenging situation than most. The laundry was located in a basement down a steep, turning set of stairs with a low overhang and ending with a severe drop-off to a sloping walkway. The best solution, of course, would be to relocate the laundry, but our next best alternative was to add a couple of additional steps and a sturdy railing.
The end result is a dramatically safer access to the basement which should make doing the dreaded laundry a bit less scary.
