Home Safety Services Partners with Agencies on Project Homes
In support of National Fall Prevention Day (September 22) – the first day of the fall season), Home Safety Services is partnering with two local agencies to make safety modifications for two local residents.
In collaboration with Life Elder Care, in Fremont, a resident will receive extensive bathroom modifications to support independent bathing and toileting, including replacing the toilet with an ADA height unit, removing the sliding glass shower doors and providing grab bars, a shower chair, a shower curtain and a non-slip textured floor coating.
In San Mateo, Home Safety Services is working with The Center for Independence for Individuals with Disabilities to identify an appropriate candidate to receive similar accessibility and fall prevention services at no charge.
This will be the tenth anniversary of National Fall Prevention Day whose objective is to raise awareness about how to prevent fall-related injuries among older adults.
