Martin Simenc has over 20 years of experience in the safety and risk management industry. Martin is regarded as an expert in residential safety, risk management and industrial loss control. He is a frequent public speaker on various topics most commonly those addressing safety in the home. He authors a monthly column entitled "Ask The Safety Guy"

. Home Safety Services has since become the largest Bay Area residential safety company and has assisted over 7,000 families by increasing their safety, confidence and peace of mind.
Prior to founding Home Safety Services, Martin managed the Property Risk Management function for Hewlett-Packard Company on a worldwide basis. Previously, he served as a loss control and risk management consultant to numerous multinational manufacturing companies. It was his father's stroke in 1993 which influenced Martin's change in focus from industrial to residential safety. His father has since recovered extremely well; however, the experience raised the importance of taking practical steps to improve safety in and around the home both prior to and after life changing events.
Martin's education includes a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and a master's degree in Finance and International Business from the University of San Francisco. He is a Licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer (PE) and Licensed General Contractor. He is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and has earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation. He is the Secretary of the International Association for Child Safety and on the Advisory Board of the Safe Kids Coalition. He is a founding member of the California Stop Falls Task Force and the San Mateo County Fall Prevention Task Force.
