Home Safety Services was approached by Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland to train their medical residents (pediatrics) in home safety assessments for the launch of their Home Safety Improvement Program. The physicians in training accompany Home Safety Services technicians on visits to learn how to identify hazards in the home and provide practical solutions to keep children safe. Through the program, the residents and their neonatal clinician colleagues conduct an in-home needs assessment, make recommendations, and provide safety devices for identified families. Home Safety Services is proud to partner with Children’s Hospital Oakland and share our expertise in child safety assessments and installations so as to reduce preventable childhood injuries and deaths to at-risk families.
